The Origins
The Malagueta Tour (Immersive Bullfighting Exhibition Center) was created as an initiative of the Málaga Provincial Council in collaboration with the Málaga-based company Toroshopping. The main objective was to revitalize the historic La Malagueta Bullring—which will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2026— and give it a new cultural purpose. This project is part of broader efforts to preserve and promote bullfighting as an integral part of Andalusian cultural heritage.

What to See at the CEIT: The 6 Galleries of the Immersive Museum
Room 1 – The Origins of Bullfighting
Starting point of the tour. This room displays archaeological remains and cultural artifacts that illustrate the evolution of bullfighting from antiquity to the present day. It includes recreations of cave paintings found in the Ardales Cave, in the province of Málaga, and an interactive tactile map showing the various forms of bullfighting throughout Spanish history and across the country.
Room 2 – Bullfighting and Art: Picasso, Goya, and Rafael Alberti
One of the most surprising galleries for those visiting Málaga in the footsteps of Picasso. Here, the influence of bullfighting on art worldwide is explored, with references to works by Pablo Picasso—who grew up in Málaga and was deeply influenced by the bullfights he witnessed at La Malagueta as a child—Francisco de Goya, and the poet Rafael Alberti. Bulls, bullfighters, and the drama of the bullring are a constant theme in the work of these three geniuses.
Room 3 – The Stages of the Bullfight
This section explores the different phases of a bullfight: the “tercio de varas,” the “tercio de banderillas,” and the “tercio de muleta.” On display are original bullfighting costumes worn by great figures of Málaga’s bullfighting tradition, including Antonio Ordóñez and Javier Conde, along with capes, crutches, and other elements of bullfighting attire. This room is particularly appreciated by fans who want to understand the art of bullfighting from the inside.
Room 4 – The Dehesa and the Wild Bull
The museum’s most sensory room. Using scent marketing and ambient sound techniques, it recreates the natural habitat of the fighting bull, offering a unique experience that transports visitors to the pastures of southern Spain. It includes educational information about the most important cattle ranches in the country and in the province of Málaga, and explains the process of raising a bull from birth through to the bullfight.
Room 5 – Fashion, Film, and Bullfighting
Bullfighting has influenced fashion, cinema, and popular culture for centuries. This gallery explores that connection through artifacts, images, and audiovisual references that show how the world of bullfighting has left its mark on design, costume, and the entertainment industry. A unique, cross-disciplinary perspective that surprises even those who aren’t fans.
Room 6 – Iconic Spaces: the Infirmary, the Bull Pens, and the Puerta Grande
The tour culminates with access to the plaza’s most iconic spaces, which are usually closed to the public: the infirmary, where goring injuries are treated during the festivities; the bull pens, from which the bulls enter the arena; and the Puerta Grande Manolo Segura, which since 1995 has been named after the bullfighter from Málaga who has been carried out on the shoulders of the crowd through it more times than anyone else. The tour ends with a descent into the arena itself, where you can walk on the sand.
Virtual Reality and Interactive Experiences
In addition to the themed rooms, the CEIT features a virtual reality bullfighting game with VR headsets that places you in the center of the bullring, interactive touchscreens, and immersive projections. As an optional activity—not included in the general admission ticket—you can also book a salon bullfighting demonstration in the La Malagueta bullring itself.

The “Las Suertes de la Lidia” gallery displays original bullfighters’ costumes belonging to bullfighters such as Antonio Ordóñez and Javier Conde. It also highlights the Romero, Galán, Ortiz, Fortes, Mari Paz Vega, and Manolo Segura dynasties—the bullfighter who has exited through La Malagueta’s Puerta Grande the most times.
